We are now delivering some of our Diabetic reviews as a group consultation. We are making this change because people tell us that they really like group consultations because they get to: spend longer (45-60 minutes) with their clinician; meet and learn from others in the same boat, and ask questions and have a bigger say in what gets discussed (90% of participants reported feeling more listened to in these types of consultations). There is also good research that suggests that when people get reviews in groups, they do better at looking after themselves and their health improves (around 80% of patients reported this). It has also been found that group discussions help around 80% of participants to better understand their condition and what they can do to help themselves.
You have been identified as eligible to participate in one of these consultations and we would be delighted if you could join us. If you would like to attend one of our group consultation clinics please reply to the text message with ‘Yes’ and we’ll book you into an appointment.
At the review, we will be looking at everyone’s results together and you will have a chance to ask any questions that you have and discuss any concerns. These group consults will take place virtually, via Microsoft Teams®, and we will email you, in due course with the joining instructions.
